Fantasia Orchestra is delighted to have a partnership with the DaCapo Music Foundation. Having been delivering music education for over 30 years, DaCapo has a wealth of experience in teaching children of all ages. Their highly successful Saturday Music Centre in North London is central to their work, and DaCapo also runs music provision in a number of schools across London.

Fantasia Orchestra acts as DaCapo's orchestra-in-residence, and together the two organisations deliver joint education ventures. As part of the partnership, Fantasia musicians are regular featured guests at the Saturday Music Centre. Previous Fantasia Orchestra highlights include their 2023 debut at The Newbury Spring Festival; a London performance of Dobrinka Tabakova’s Cello Concerto with soloist Laura van der Heijden; and a co-commission with the London Mozart Players of a new arrangement of Ernest Bloch’s Schelomo, premiered in the UK by Fantasia with soloist Sheku Kanneh-Mason.Education is central to the ethos of Fantasia, and 2020 saw the launch of its partnership with the music education charity DaCapo Foundation. As DaCapo’s orchestra-in-residence, Fantasia musicians work closely with students from across London and beyond to deliver high quality training and exciting musical experiences. Fantasia Orchestra has worked with DaCapo on a new resource for the primary classroom: DaCapo Online is a a comprehensive, ambitious and inclusive music curriculum that features Fantasia musicians at every stage.

DaCapo online

Fantasia Orchestra worked with partners DaCapo on a new resource for the primary classroom:

  • a fun programme, tailored to meet the unique needs of children in Nursery and KS1 (KS2 launching soon)

  • a comprehensive online music curriculum, based on DaCapo’s 30 years’ experience

  • ambitious and inclusive and enables class teachers with little musical expertise to teach music in an interactive and engaging way

The programme has been created by top-quality musicians with specially-commissioned songs. Aimed at specific age groups, every lesson can be taught at the teacher’s own pace to ensure full coverage of the curriculum. Teachers learn alongside the children and save on Planning, Preparation & Assessment.

Fantasia Orchestra is featured in every stage of the online resource.
