In its tenth anniversary year, Fantasia Orchestra returns to the BBC Proms, a major milestone for an ensemble that began as a group of school-age musicians and has since grown into one of the UK’s most distinctive orchestral voices.
This Relaxed Prom reflects that journey: bold, open and unafraid to cross musical boundaries. From the energy of Louis Prima and Duke Ellington to the lyricism of Vaughan Williams and Dvořák, this programme moves fluidly between musical worlds. Alongside these works, Caroline Shaw and Meredith Monk offer distinctive contemporary perspectives, while Radiohead’s Pyramid Song is reimagined for orchestra and voices.
Performed with the BBC Singers, this Relaxed Prom is designed to be open, welcoming and accessible, an invitation to experience live music in a flexible and inclusive setting.
