Tamsin Waley-Cohen
Tamsin Waley-Cohen enjoys an adventurous and varied career, performing chamber music and concertos internationally.
Having made our debut at the Northern Aldborough Festival with Leeds Piano Competition winner Alim Beisembayev in 2024, Fantasia Orchestra returns in 2025, opening the festival with a pastoral programme.
Violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen joins Fantasia for Vaughan Williams' much-loved The Lark Ascending, which we precede with Florence Price's song-like Andante Moderato.
Two Serenades by Elgar and Dvorak frame the concert. They flow with lyrical melody, providing a beautiful pairing with Aldborough's idyllic setting.
Born in London, Tamsin Waley-Cohen enjoys an adventurous and varied career. She has performed concertos with the Royal Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Hallé, Liverpool Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, Royal Northern Sinfonia and BBC orchestras, and is a founding member of the Albion String Quartet.
Tom Fetherstonhaugh is Artistic Director of Fantasia Orchestra, which he founded in 2016.
Alongside Fantasia, in the 25/26 season Tom returns to the BBC Philharmonic, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Manchester Camerata, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and Ulster Orchestra.
